Class size is kept small with a maximum of sixteen students. No one under 18 years of age is admitted into the class, though we will be happy to work privately with those under 18 (and we also offer an On Camera Summer Camp for Young Actors).
The studio is not set up like a “course,” or a workshop; it is a process and a true scene study. Every class is a mixture of first and second works of scenes. You are assigned a scene and a scene partner and are expected to do your script analysis and rehearse and bring the scene in off book. That first work is followed by detailed notes from Caroline. The next week you will bring the scene back in and we will work it as though you are on a set with a director starting and stopping you until it is in the shape it needs to be.
All scenes come from film and television. Actors work on a variety of things: emotional life, power, comedy, character, camera appropriateness, nuance and script analysis.
The classes are full of actors dedicated to growing as artists. When you join one of our classes you will find yourself immediately invited to become a part of the Nashville Acting Studio community.
